At Mount Desert - A Summer's Sowing

“At Mount Desert” and “A Summer's Sowing” by Mildred Fairfax capture the quiet, purposeful spirit of a summer that feels both fleeting and transformative. Through vivid scenes of daily life, the stories follow young people as they learn by doing—planting, preparing, and caring for what they hope will grow. Amid simple routines and shared work, small moments of challenge and discovery deepen friendships and reveal character. Fairfax blends warmth and realism with a sense of place, turning ordinary days into lessons about patience, responsibility, and the lasting value of steady effort. At Mount Desert - A Summer's Sowing is an unchanged, high-quality reprint of the original edition of 1893.
