Andrew Melville

"Andrew Melville" by William Morison offers a vivid portrait of one of Scotland's most influential reformers and educators, whose ideas helped shape the intellectual and religious life of the country. Through a focused look at Melville's life and work, the book highlights his determination to challenge established norms and to place learning, preaching, and moral conviction at the center of public faith. Readers are drawn into the tensions of the Reformation era—where scholarship could become a form of resistance—and learn how Melville's leadership, teaching, and reforming zeal left a lasting mark on Scottish culture and church life. Andrew Melville is an unchanged, high-quality reprint of the original edition of 1899.
